7-Eleven Slurpee Player

7-Eleven and The Tetris Company have teamed up to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Tetris. Starting on May 1st, 2024, customers can participate to win one of 20,000 limited edition Slurpee Players. MY ARCADE was responsible for the design and manufacturing of the special edition 7-11 Slurpee Player. I was involved with the initial concept generation, 3D modeling/rendering and CMF development for this gaming device.

The Slurpee player is a really fun way to celebrate Tetris’s 40th Anniversary. Each unit has a 1.8” screen, built-in speaker with volume control, is powered by 3 AAA batteries, and can be powered by a USB-C cord. The Slurpee player also has incorporated LEDs that can illuminate the top dollop in a rainbow of colors.

The 7-11 Slurpee Player is designed to be roughly the same size as a small Slurpee cup.

The top dollop portion of the Slurpee player is translucent white plastic, allowing the lighting effect to show through.
The lighting effect cycles through various colors. With the light control button, you can turn the lighting effect on or off.

The design started out as an Illustrator sketch. I bought a small Slurpee cup from 7-11, took measurements and laid it out in Illustrator. I incorporated a 1.8” screen thats used in other MY ARCADE products, and the basic button interface used on other Tetris gaming devices.

The initial orthographic was sent to the factory, and we received a 3D model which was pretty close to the sketch sent over. The graphic design team created the colorful rainbow label used on the device. We were initially thinking that the top dollop portion would be tinted plastic with a rainbow gradient.

After another round of refinement, the design is finalized. These are the official renderings from Tetris with the finalized artwork that will be seen on the final product.
